Pistons Push

Tandem Leaning: Tandem Stretching & Strengthening

  • Read the introduction.
  • Join hands with your tandem partner (picture one).
  • Lean into them as they lean into you.
  • As you continue to lean into them, begin pushing one of their arms away from you as they push your other arm toward you.
  • Continue to lean into them as you give and take with your arms creating a piston like movement.

Reciprocal Lean: Isometric, Concentric, and Eccentric Contractions

Isometric Your arms are isometrically contracting as you and your partner lean into each other.
Concentric Your arm is strengthening as you push their arm away from your body.
Eccentric Your arm is resistance stretching as it gets pushed toward your body.
Reciprocal The same holds true for your tandem partner.
