Tandem Leaning: Tandem Stretching & Strengthening
- Read the introduction.
- Clasp fingers with your tandem partner (picture one).
- Lean away from them as they lean away from you.
- As you continue to lean away from them, begin pulling one of their arms toward you as they pull your other arm away from you.
- Continue to lean away from them as you give and take with your arms creating a piston like movement.
Reciprocal Lean: Isometric, Concentric, and Eccentric Contractions

Your arms are isometrically contracting as you and your partner lean away from each other. |

Your arm is strengthening as you pull their arm toward your body. |
| Eccentric |
Your arm is resistance stretching as it gets pulled toward your partner's body. |
| Reciprocal |
The same holds true for your tandem partner. |
