Tandem Leaning: Tandem Stretching & Strengthening
- Read the introduction.
- Lay side by side with your tandem partner, bend your leg that is adjacent to them as they do the same, and place your bent leg up against their bent leg.
- Use your your knee to lean into them as they do the same.
- Push their knee down to the ground as they lean into you.
- Keep leaning into them as they take your knee down to the ground.
Reciprocal Lean: Isometric, Concentric, and Eccentric Contractions

Your lateral quad is isometrically contracting as you and your partner lean into each other. |
| Concentric |
Your lateral quad is strengthening as you push their knee down toward the ground. |
| Eccentric |
Your lateral quad is resistance stretching as they push your knee down toward the ground. |

The same holds true for your tandem partner. |
