Luther The Meridian Flexibility System's main focus is to contract the muscles while simultaneously elongating them. It is not a static stretch, but instead a movement of the muscle from where it is as short as possible to where it is as long as possible. Most other forms of stretching involve elongating the muscle and holding the stretch. Resistance Stretching stresses that most of the stretch occurs during the movement, and not at the end point of the stretch. Another unique aspect of Resistance Stretching is that all of the stretches can be reversed to provide strength training to the same muscle group.
